Current Catalogue Entry
Tape | NPS-JFC-C-034-1&3 | Batch | 2 | Length m | 44 | Date Rec’d
Title | PS Piping Society Concert 1966 McPeake Family | Contents | Live recording of (probably) an NPS concert No sign of McPeake family
Quality | Variable quality recording – volume is inconsistent and there’s a crackle across quite a lot of it. Recording obviously stopped and started again several times MD. A candidate for intelligent noise removal if available (not on original of course). GM
Notes | Stereo. Comparing it to 034-24, there are differences in the volume of some of the acts. ?Possible that it was actually recorded as stereo (or more) across all the tracks so the two need combining?? Probably an NPS concert because MC introduces Tommy Breckons as “who this year is the Society’s Open Champion”, but no sign of the McPeake family on here. No other indication of date. Given the eclectic nature of the performances, possibility that it’s some other event.
