Tape | NPS-JFC-F-005-Side-1 | Length m | Date rec’d | July ’68 | Quality | High
Title | 2-11-1962 Northumbriana [indexed by JFC] Side 2 Selections from Pipers’ Functions. | Contents | BBC programme off air
Notes | The Corries released Lowlands away in 1968, and Julie Felix released The Hedgehog’s Song, and Billy Pigg died that year. It is almost certain that this tape is a recording of ‘Degrees of Folk’, TV programme, broadcast on 29th July of that year, which featured the same artists. (JG) https://carthyarchive.wordpress.com/1968/07/29/degrees-of-folk/ Recorded at King’s Hall, University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a student audience. Presented by Ronnie Browne and Roy Williamson of The Corries, Besides the copyright issues on recently composed music such as Bill Charlton’s Fancy, the two Julie Felix songs, and the arrangements of the traditional music, the BBC will own rights to the broadcast, so we would need their permission before using any of it.
